Admission Master's


What students are we looking for?

The MBA-Program of the Department of Business Administration aims to nurture management talents who aim to become future leaders in business and industry, in Taiwan or internationally. The design of our program requires special skills and abilities of prospective students which is reflected in our admission procedures.
We are looking for students who demonstrate the following skills, interests and abilities:

•   hold an undergraduate degree, preferably in the fields of business or economics
•   applicants with undergraduate degrees in other disciplines should have taken courses in business and management if not, applicants will be asked to take remedial courses]
•   solid knowledge of statistics
•   interest in marketing, management strategies, and human resources 
•   good leadership and communication skills
•   intercultural sensitivity and an interest in global affairs

How does the admission process work?

We wish to recruit students with the very best academic merit, potential and motivation, and welcome applications by all suitably qualified prospective students from different backgrounds. For international applicants, the admission decision is based on written documents, we usually do not hold interviews/ admission exams. The documents have to be submitted to the Office of Academic Affairs, but will be reviewed by the DAB admission committee which carefully considers each application on an individual basis. 
The DAB admission committee considers:

•   the  academic results in your undergraduates studies (i.e.transcripts of your Bachelor's degree)
•   the focus/ specialization in your undergraduates studies (i.e. did you take courses in business, economics, finance  etc.)

•   your work experience (i.e. work experience is not a requirement, but work experience in a relevant field, particularly in management, will increase your chances of admission)
•   the diversity of your skills and interests (i.e. do you have hobbys or interests that are relevant for your application?) 

•    the quality of your Statement of Purpose (500 words) where you have to explain your academic background and the specific reasons why you wish to join our MBA-program

•   your video-recorded self-introduction (max. 5 minutes) about your personality and motivation, the reasons why you choose our program,  and why we should accept your application

•    the endorsement expressed in the recommendation letter(s)


How to apply? 

Admission to the Master's of Business Administration program is possible both in the fall and in the spring term, please refer to the NTUST Academic Calender for the admission deadlines. Detailed information on the application process, fee payments etc. is offered by the Office of Academic Affairs. Once you have  received your Letter of Admission, the Office of International Affairs will assist with enrollment and getting settled at Taiwan Tech.

Credit waivers and credit recognition

After enrollment, students can apply for credit waivers to be exempted from taking courses at Taiwan Tech. The maximum of  waived credits must not exceed 50% of the credits reqired for graduation, i.e. not more than 21 credits taken at other institutions can be transferred. Relevant supporting documents need to be submitted.
The following conditions apply (for detailed information on credit transfer, please refer to the regulations issued by the Office of Academic Affairs) 

► The name of the course and the number of credits that you wish to waive has to correspond to the name of the DBA-course and to its number of credits 
► 
You have to submit relevant documents, i.e. university transcripts and course descriptions

►  
The courses which you submit for credit transfer must have been completed successfully
     the credits may NOT be included in the credit requirements of your undergraduate degree

► The minimum period of study of the Master's of Business Administration Program is one year, i.e. if you are granted credits waivers, 
    you will still have to enroll at Taiwan Tech for al least one year within which you have to fulfill all requirements for graduation
